It is easy for me to get distracted, so easy you can’t even imagine it. Partly cause I have the attention span of a five-year old, and because I am usually thinking – and doing – several things at the same time. What this also means is that it is easy for me to exhaust myself, physically and mentally.
Here is the thing, with exhaustion comes mental block and a large chunk of the work I do depends greatly on creativity, I can not afford mental block.
There is also the fact that with mental block comes anxiety and a total system collapse, but I digress.
Every passing day, I am discovering new ways to follow thru and to push past any form of creative block. Which brings me to the topic of today’s blog post.
A while ago, I once again found myself unable to do anything. My mind just wouldn’t churn out anything. Desperate to keep going, I turned to the internet. Fortunately, I found an amazing logo design challenge website Thirty Logos
I figured I’d give it a shot since I was having trouble creating 100% original ideas and so far it has yielded positive results.
The first day was nerve-wracking, my mind just wouldn’t cooperate, but eventually I scribbled out something passable. The challenge was to design a logo for a personal, modern, , shared office hub called Space.
then there was The Grind, an organic coffee shop that specifically didn’t want the color brown in their design.
The third day was rather challenging, although at this point my nerves were starting to relax. I had spent hours pouring over different logo ideas on the web, life was coming back to my mind.
So when asked to come up with a concept for an email marketing platform called Twitchy Rabbit, I was semi ready.
This one, although they look similar, I couldn’t decide. One of the simplest designs yet I couldn’t seem to decide. The internet is saturated with social media websites and applications. It makes it kinda difficult to decide what direction you wanna go in.
Day 5 followed with Wildlife, a non-profit organization that preserves the life and habitat of wild animals. They insisted on a stand alone the logo.
I think I like this one the most, maybe cause it took me all but 7 minutes to make. LoL! 1-800Rosebud is an online flower shop that sells flowers and gifts for all occasions
This past couple days have been interesting, I find that the more I do, the more I want to do. I don’t know if that makes any sense to you, but what I am trying to say is this; so far it has been a wonderful ride. I am curious to see what I have to make next and I look forward to taking part in more design – and other – challenges.
